Max the German Shepherd is looking for a new family to call his own after a swift kick from a horse landed him in Dr. Oz’s care.

The one-and-a-half-year-old pup was brought to the clinic after he was kicked earlier his week.

His owner could not afford the vet bills so Dr. Moshe Oz agreed to fix up the dog and find him a new ‘furever‘ home.

“We have a very special situation here at the hospital and are reaching out to our clients,” writes Rose Valley Veterinary Hospital.

“The heartbreak is that his owner could not afford (financially and time wise) to invest in him so Dr. Oz decided to take him in for his own.”

Once in Oz’s custody the dog received radiographs and an orthopaedic specialist (Dr. Bhandal) came to Rose Valley to cast this leg.

“He needs a fantastic family to give him rest, love and future veterinary care,” adds the clinic.

“It will be a difficult journey in the near future, but well worth it after recovery.”

Max is reportedly great with people and other animals.
