Salmon Arm Art Gallery is presents The Blue Trail, a visual dialogue about Canada’s diverse waterways.
Seven artists are featured, and each one delves into a type of waterway familiar to Canadians – oceans, lakes, rivers, streams, marshlands, glaciers and waterfalls.
New works by painters David Alexander, Lisa Figueroa, Barry Rafuse, Linda Franklin, Herald Nix and Valerie Rogers will be featured, with glass works by Amanda King-Bloom.
A clean abundant water supply is the pride of many Canadians, however this precious resource is at risk. This dialogue aims to engage visitors in the beauty, purpose, vitality and the challenge of protecting our water systems.
The exhibition opens on Friday, June 2 at 7 p.m., with live music and refreshments. Many of the artists will be present and everyone is welcome to attend.
The exhibition continues to July 15, with Coffee Break and Artist Talk day on Thursday, June 15 at 2 p.m.
Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ongoing gallery programs include Family Saturdays, a drop-in art making session for families with children of all ages, every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
On the second Tuesday of each month, an artist trading card session happens from 3 to 4 p.m. Curatorial tours for groups are available by contacting the education co-ordinator at the gallery.
