Chamber to offload office
The Sicamous Chamber of Commerce is getting its house in order to give up its house/office on Finlayson.
At their recent AGM, chamber members gave their board of directors the ability deal with the disposal of the building before the lease on the District of Sicamous-owned lot comes due in Dec. 2012. Then chamber president Kaija Isherwood explained the society that owns the building would have it go to the chamber first, then a non-profit group, and then the district. She said the chamber, however, does not have the funds to move the building as might be required since the district is looking at the lot, in the long term, as additional parking.
The district has offered the chamber space in the new municipal hall upon its completion.
