Chase RCMP investigate theft of dog, vehicle

On March 7, the Chase RCMP Detachment received a report that a six-month-old border collie/blue heeler pup was stolen from a residence on Silver Birch Lane in Pritchard. A black Jeep Cherokee was observed near the driveway when the puppy disappeared.

Ditched

On March 8 just after midnight, Chase RCMP received a report of a transport truck in the ditch on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Sorrento. The driver lost control on black ice and the vehicle entered the ditch.

No injuries were sustained. Power lines were damaged in the collision and BC Hydro repaired the damage.

Approximately 100 customers lost power until the repair was completed.

Impaired

On the evening of March 10, members of the Chase Detachment and the Central Interior Traffic Services conducted a check stop on Pine Street in Chase.

A 23-year-old female was found driving impaired by alcohol after she failed a roadside screening device. She was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Graffiti

On March 11, Chase RCMP received a report of mischief at the Art Holding Memorial Arena in Chase. During the previous night suspects spray painted graffiti on the exterior walls.

Van found

On March 2 about 2 p.m., Chase RCMP officers located an unoccupied red 1999 Dodge Caravan parked on Bay Drive in Chase. The van was found to have been reported stolen from Vernon on Feb. 21.

B &E

On Feb. 27, Chase RCMP received a report of a break and enter in the 3000 block of Squilax Anglemont Road in Scotch Creek. Sometime between Feb. 16 and 27, suspects entered a vacant property through a locked door.

Nothing was taken during this offence.
