Update: Three hospitalized after collision on Trans-Canada Highway in Salmon Arm

A collision took place near the Trans-Canada Highway’s intersection with 30th Street NE on Oct. 1.

The collision slowed traffic on the highway as RCMP officers and tow truck drivers worked to clean up the scene and clear the damaged vehicles from the area.

A Dodge truck collided with a westbound Volkswagen car as it was turning left heading towards 30th St. NE.

Two other vehicles were involved in the collision; one that the pickup truck crashed into after it collided with the Volkswagen and another which was struck by debris from the truck.

The three occupants of the Volkswagen were transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. According to the driver of one of the other vehicles, the occupant of the vehicle that was struck by the truck after the initial impact was also taken to hospital by ambulance and the driver of the truck also went to the hospital. Three of the four vehicles were towed away from the accident scene.

The scene was cleaned up and the damaged vehicles were taken away by 10:45 a.m.
