Don’t dust off those sports uniforms just yet.

The City of Salmon Arm reports that fields in Salmon Arm are closed until sometime next week.

City staff surveyed all the fields Friday morning and found that all but one will have to remain closed until next week.

Jason Chernoff, supervisor of parks and recreation, reports: “The fields are completely saturated with standing water present in several locations.”

The only field that remains open is the Klahani Park ball diamonds.

Even the Safeway fields behind the new school board office, which usually don’t get too wet, are closed and filled with standing water.

Chernoff says the reassessment will happen later next week as rain is expected throughout the week.
