The driver of a vehicle who struck a pedestrian Jan. 6 on Grandview Bench Road was ticketed by police.

An RCMP officer’s good memory led to the arrest of a man at a local gas station on Thursday, Feb. 2.

The police officer was investigating another matter when he spotted the man.

The officer determined that the suspect, a 39-year-old who resides in Blind Bay, had warrants for his arrest.

The man was arrested and the officer then determined that he was in possession of a stolen 2004 Acura car which was

parked outside. It was reported stolen from the Fintry area of Okanagan Lake.

The RCMP officer also located a quantity of methamphetamine and heroin in the man’s possession.

The suspect was held in custody by police and released by the courts to appear in mid-February.

The male is facing Criminal Code charges for possession of the car, breaching previous release conditions and

possession of a controlled substance for possession of the drugs.
