RCMP arrest two after seizing drugs from car

A man and woman have been arrested for drug-related offences after a citizen reported a possible impaired driver on Saturday afternoon.

On March 18 at 1 p.m., a citizen called in about a driver on the Trans-Canada Highway between Salmon Arm and Sicamous.

A Sicamous RCMP officer was dispatched and found the suspect vehicle parked on the highway west of Sicamous. During the investigation, the officer seized a quantity of illegal narcotics as well as drug paraphernalia from inside the vehicle.

The 64-year-old driver and 50-year old passenger were both arrested. A 24-hour driving suspension was also issued.
