Joan Whitlam passed away at Hillside Village, Salmon Arm, BC on Saturday March 26th, 2016 at the age of 95 years.

Joan was born in Baildon, England on February 11, 1921 and immigrated to Saskatchewan in 1955. In 1957 she moved to Cambridge, Ontario before moving to Sicamous in 1989. She had worked as a cook for the Salvation Army while in Cambridge and enjoyed worshipping with the Salvation Army congregation at Salmon Arm. She loved dogs, traveling and was a great hockey fan.

Joan will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Allan (Shirley) of Cambridge, ON, Eric (Teresa) of Sicamous, Neil (Heather) of Salmon Arm, Brian (Susan) of Sicamous and David of Sicamous; grandchildren, Jamie, Sarah, Jill and Bryce; great grandchildren, Isiaha, Toby, Zachary and Liam. She is also survived by her extended family in England.

A funeral service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Saturday, April 2nd at 10:30 am, with Major Martin Ketteringham officiating. Online condolences may be sent through Joan’s obituary at www.bowersfuneralservice.com
