Friends and family gathered in Salmon Arm to support and fundraise for those affected by Parkinson’s Disease.
On Sept. 14, the Parkinson SuperWalk was held at McGuire Lake Park. The event saw dozens of people, including a large group of Bastion Place residents escorted by members of the Sicamous Eagles Hockey team walking around the lake. Most walkers sported red, yellow and blue t-shirts with the Parkinson SuperWalk logo on them.
The walk is the largest fundraiser for the Parkinson Society of B.C. and Parkinson Canada. According to the Parkinson SuperWalk website, funds raised will help to provide support services and education offered by the Parkinson Society in B.C. as well as fund research efforts.
