Lions Club seeking help with playground fundraiser

The Sicamous Lions Club is taking on a huge project, which will require the help of the whole community.

The Lions will be raising money for new equipment for the park just off Martin Street that will be accessible for all.

They want to have equipment for ages one to 100.  This project will take a lot of money and manpower.

We have set up an account, #307124, at the Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union, Sicamous Branch. For anyone who would like to donate to the project, please specify “Lion’s playground account.”

The Lions will be needing volunteer help on all our projects coming up, which include a pancake breakfast at the Spring Fling on May 14, a July 1st pancake breakfast at the Red Barn, a July 2nd pancake breakfast and lunch at the Show And Shine in Finlayson Park, July 15th at the legion for Sturgis North and possibly other projects during the summer and fall.

They will have a booth at the Spring Fling on May 13 and 14 at the Sicamous Recreation Centre. Participating club members will be handing out brochures that will tell you all about the playground, along with a description.

The Lions will also be accepting new memberships, which we desperately need, and selling our nine-bean soup.

Please show your support for this worthwhile project by whatever means you can.
