Inaugural event connects families to programs and supports

The level of activity, family fun and laughter marked the first ever Shuswap Family Expo as a success.

Local organizations and vendors filled the Salmon Arm Fair Grounds from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, while families circulated throughout to learn about what programs are available in the community while kids bounced through inflatable castles and other activities.

On the website, co-founders Dr. Taylor Bean and Missy Morrison Charko describe the expo as an engaging event with "a focus on various aspects of baby, child & teen and parent education and wellness."

To achieve that, they brought in expert guest speakers and had interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Additional  information about the expo, including how to get involved in future events, is available online at shuswapfamilyexpo.ca.
