Keegan Ashley, with Interfor Adams Lake Division, is one of five other students from across Canada chosen to participate in the Forest Products Association's Green Dream Internship Program.

Chase's Keegan Ashley will be living the dream this summer as one of five students to win a 2024 Green Dream Internship in forestry.

Started in 2013, the Forest Products Association of Canada's (FPAC) initiative highlights the perspectives and experiences of students working in the forest sector for six weeks. Winners also receive a $1,000 scholarship for further education.

Ashley, who is with the Inferfor Adams Lake Division, will be participating in the program that has the interns use social media to share their insights and create content that provides a unique look at their summer experiences. They will also produce a 'day in the life' and behind the scenes videos to provide a snapshot of the daily operations in sustainable forest management.

After the July 18 announcement, Interfor posted a congratulatory note about Ashley on its own social media

"Keegan's passion for the forest industry is rooted in his family history, which spans more than 100 years in the sector," the company said on Instagram. "He plans to pursue a career in either manufacturing or the woodlands sector. Through the Green Dream Internship, Keegan hopes to share his journey and promote the opportunities the industry holds for young workers and students like himself."

Content created by the Green Dream Interns will be shared on FPAC's social media on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and LinkedIn pages throughout the summer. In addition to Ashley, the team consists of students from Vancouver, High Level and Whiltecourt in Alberta and Alma, Quebec.
