Chilcotin River landslide information portal launched by province

The portal went live Sunday, Aug. 4

The Province has launched a Chilcotin River Landslide information portal with new photos, video and other resources.

Information will be updated continuously at www.gov.bc.ca/landslide as it is received.

As of Sunday, Aug. 4, the river is still completely blocked and a large lake continues to form upstream of the slide.

In a Facebook post, the Tsilhqot'in National Government noted as of Sunday morning, Aug. 4, the slide is holding back 61million cubic meters of water. That equals the capacity of 24,400 Olympic swimming pools.
