Regardless of which team wins Super Bowl LVIII, it’s going to spark a celebration in Swansea Point.
In a Feb. 5 Public Service Announcement to its Facebook page, the Swansea Point Volunteer Fire Department alerted the community that on Sunday, Feb. 11, a private function on Mara Heights Road has received a permit to set off fireworks between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
“The permit has been approved and issued by the CSRD [Columbia Shuswap Regional District],” fire Chief Steve Norton explained in the post. “And the private function has hired Emerald City Fireworks Ltd. to supervise the show.”
As pets are easily scared by such pyrotechnic displays, it’s advised to keep them inside, close the curtains and leave a TV or radio on to help block the noise.
