The Sicamous Chamber of Commerce has announced the sounds of summer with its 2024 Music in the Park lineup. The annual concert series returns to the Beach Park from every Monday evening from July 8 through to Aug. 12, with a variety of genres represented, from blues and rock, to country and Celtic. Kicking things off is Revelstoke based band Cornstarr, which is described as "pure hard rock and some good ol' country" on its Facebook page, followed up by Blues brother Poppa Dawg, on July 15. Fan favourite Daring Greatly, which always draws a good crowd, will return on July 22, with the Maritime Kitchen Band closing out July with an east coast flare on the 29th.
The series winds down the following month with Okanagan's Kris Anders, described as "Nashville-meets-Coldplay" on Aug. 5 and Bobby Cameron singing the blues on Aug. 12.
All shows start at 6:30 p.m., with admission by donation and drinks and snacks available for purchase. Vendors are welcome to set up and any who are interested can call chamber executive director Sheila Devost for more information at 250-836-0002.
