Wildfire near Revelstoke grows to 4.2 hectares

A wildfire outside of Revelstoke in South Pass Creek has be labelled as out of control by BC Wildfire Service.

Update: July, 17, 11:04 a.m.

The Wap Creek wildfire is now classified as being held

The size is still estimated at 4.2 hectares in size

The fire is located approximately 20 km southwest of Revelstoke


 

Update: 7:49 p.m.

The Wap Creek wildfire has grown to an estimated 4.2 hectares in size. 

The blaze was first discovered earlier on Monday, July 15.

Lightning is the suspected cause of the fire. 

There are currently no evacuation alerts or orders associated with this fire. 


A wildfire has sparked near Revelstoke in South Pass Creek.

The fire was discovered on Monday, July 15, and is considered out-of-control.  BC Wildfire Service estimates the blaze to be 0.009 hectares in size.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
