Salmon Arm's annual fall yard waste curbside collection event runs Nov. 11 to 15, 2024.

Free fall yard waste pickup gets underway next week in Salmon Arm.

The city's annual curbside collection event runs Nov. 11 to 15. Accepted yard waste includes leaves, un-bundled branches (no thicker than one inch/2.5 centimetres in diameter and no longer than three feet/91 cm), grass, and hedge clippings, non-invasive weeds, shrubs, small branches, sod and pumpkins.

For pickup, materials must be placed in paper yard waste bags (no plastic), and the city asks that the bags be out on the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. As the collection covers multiple zones, bags can be kept out until picked up.

If you are missed, contact SCV at 250-803-4074 or admin@scvwaste.ca.

It is also the time of year for renewing dog licences. Dogs over six months of age must be licensed with the City of Salmon Arm.

"Licensing your dog provides identification, allowing us to return your furry friend if they get lost or stolen," explained the city via social media.

Licensing fees are as follows: spayed female: $17; unspayed female: $35; neutered male: $17; unneutered male: $35. Special zoning required for four or more dogs: $135.

A $5 early payment discount can be had for licences purchased by February 18, 2025.

Licenses can be purchased at city hall, or online at www.salmonarm.ca/202/Dog-Licences.
