Late night lurking earned a Salmon Arm man a court date for breach of conditions.

At 4 a.m. on Aug. 12, an officer on patrol noticed a suspicious male at the back door of a business on 4th Avenue SW. As it was an odd hour for a possible employee to be at the business, the officer stopped to investigate and identified a man known to police.

"The man was known to be on curfew conditions and was arrested for breach of his release order given by the courts," Const. Andrew Hodges said in a media release. "Upon search incidental to arrest, police also located a lighter on him, which was also against one of his release conditions."

The man was taken to his place of residence and released with a future court date, with police having submitted recommended charges of two counts fail to comply with release order to BC Prosecution for approval.
