A guest at a Salmon Arm hotel had such a bad review of the establishment that she got the local RCMP involved.

At 5 p.m. on Dec. 24, a 39-year-old woman called the police to report the hotel room she had just checked into was "very dirty," and the hotel was refusing to refund her money.

"The woman was threatening to 'jump over the counter and there will be an issue,'" Const. Andrew Hodges said in a media release. "Salmon RCMP attended but the woman had departed."

Hotel staff explained to the responding officers that the woman had booked through an online third party so they were unable to do the refund as it would be processed through the third party retailer.
