The Revelstoke Grizzlies took a close, 3-2 OT win over the Sicamous Eagles in KIJHL action Saturday, Jan. 18.

Though the SIcamous Eagles suffered a loss Saturday night, they did force overtime in the 3-2 game against the Revelstoke Grizzlies that are currently second in the KIJHL.

With the home ice advantage in the Jan. 18 game, the Grizzlies managed to eke out the win after getting on the board first with rookie Mark LaFleur getting his first KIJHL career goal on a pass from Faris Meddeb. Sicamous, however, tied the game soon after as Maguire Nicholson hit double digits with his 10th goal of the campaign, while Hayden Evans and Austin Horbachewsky picked up assists.

The Eagles edged into the lead when Dexter Materi found the back of the net early on for the only marker of the second frame, with Tysen Andersen and Horbachewsky getting him the puck.

It became a tie game 4:42 into the third when Colton McLeod scored off of Jake Phillips-Watts and Austin Wooley for the extra frame that was short-lived as Diego Smith quickly potted the game-winning goal for the Grizz.

The Eagles play again tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 21 as they head south to take on the first place Princeton Posse with the puck drop at 7 p.m. Revelstoke isn't back on the ice until Friday, Jan. 24 when they host the Osoyoos Coyotes at 7 p.m.
