There's no place for complacency as the Salmon Arm Silverbacks wrap up regular season play before advancing to the playoffs.
With a 7-3 win on March 7 versus the Cranbrook Bucks (followed by a 6-2 win over the Okotoks Oilers on March 8), the Silverbacks clinched a spot in the upcoming playoffs – something the team has successfully done every season since 2014/15.
“We are excited to be going back to the playoffs,” said general manager and head coach Tyler Shattock in a Silverbacks media release. “This allows us to try and build on back-to-back Interior Conference Finals and take the next step on bringing Salmon Arm a championship.”
In the meantime, the 'Backs are focused on a final push through remaining regular season games, including two at Rogers Rink – Friday, March 14, versus the Powell River Kings and Saturday, March 15, when the 'Backs face off against the Spruce Grove Saints. After that is a pair of away games, March 21 and 22 in Trail.
The Silverbacks wrap up their regular season on Friday, March 28, with a game versus the West Kelowna Warriors. Game time is 7 p.m. Afterwards, the Silverbacks will be handing out team awards for the season.
