Marianne VanBuskirk and Amanda Krebs, the two trustees elected to the School District #83 board of education from Salmon Arm, are looking forward to the next four years.

“I feel humbled and truly grateful to the citizens of Salmon Arm for taking the time to vote and for having confidence in me…” said VanBuskirk of the Oct. 20 election.

VanBuskirk says she is excited to be working with other newly elected trustees: Amanda Krebs (Salmon Arm), Marty Gibbons (South and North Shuswap), Quentin Bruns (Enderby, District of Sicamous and Rural Sicamous and Area F of the Regional District of North Okanagan) and Tennile Lachmuth (Columbia Shuswap Regional District Area D, City of Armstrong, District of Spallumcheen).

“I am looking forward to assembling as a group and to become oriented with the procedures of the school district as we work towards the common goal of support for the students and staff of School District #83,” she says. “I also look forward to connecting with the many partner groups who have been diligently working so hard for the school district.”

Krebs is equally effusive and appreciative.

“During my campaign, I was often overwhelmed by the positive feedback I received,” she said Tuesday. “I am appreciative and humbled by the faith and trust that the people of Salmon Arm have given me. I can’t wait to meet the other members of the board and get started.”
