Carpenter to fill empty seat on Sicamous council

In a byelection held Saturday to fill the seat to replace Greg Kyllo who is now MLA, one candidate wins with significant margin.

In the Sicamous municipal byelection, Suzanne Carpenter will now sit on city council.

Preliminary results show that Suzanne Carpenter defeated candidates Lynn Miller and Terry Sinton.

Carpenter received 208 votes, while Miller tallied 90 and Sinton, 61.
