Fire outside Penticton pub quickly extinguished

A blaze that started outside the Barley Mill Brew Pub in Penticton was quickly doused by fire crews on Saturday morning, Dec. 9.

Rob Trupp, Penticton’s assistant fire chief, says a small fire was discovered in an outside storage cupboard near the building at around 9 a.m.

The fire was contained to the storage cupboard, Trupp added, and crews finished cleaning up the scene by around 9:40 a.m.

Fire crews, along with Penticton RCMP, were on scene.

The Barley Mill Brew Pub — located on Skaha Lake Road — is open as usual Saturday, following the incident.

There were no injuries and the fire is currently under investigation.
