Grants bolster community groups

Eleven organizations have received $237,700 so far this year in gaming grants.

A variety of activities in the North Okanagan and Shuswap have benefitted from provincial funding.

Eleven organizations have received $237,700 so far this year in gaming grants.

“I know that the work done by the staff and volunteers of each of these organizations helps define our region as a caring and compassionate place,” said Greg Kyllo

The organizations eceiving grants include:

· Grindrod Elementary School Parent Advisory Council $1,420

· Enderby and District Community Resource Centre Society $8,000

· IODE Lambly’s Landing $7,730

· Rotary Club of Armstrong $15,000

· North Okanagan Shuswap Brain Injury Society $52,000

· Eagle Valley Community Support Society $47,000

· Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society $41,000

· Shuswap Day Care Society $27,000

· Rotary Club of Salmon Arm (Shuswap) $17,000

· Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council # 7107 $15,000

· Sicamous Preschool Society $6,550
