The 89th Academy Awards hit the small screen this Sunday and B.C. residents are putting their money where their critique is.

As it stands, La La Land is the betting favourite.

Smash hit La La Land has a record 14 Oscars nominations, and is favoured on PlayNow.com to clean up at the awards ceremony.

It is heavily favoured to win Best Picture with odds of 3/25.

A $10 bet for La La Land would return $11.20 if it wins Best Picture.

The film is also the betting favourite in nine categories, including Best Director for Damien Chazelle and Best Actress for Emma Stone.

In other categories, Casey Affleck has the best odds at 29/50 to win Best Actor for his performance in Manchester by the Sea.

Viola Davis is the favourite in the Best Supporting Actress category at 3/50, and Mahershala Ali is favoured at 1/10 to win Best Supporting Actor.

When it comes to Canadian nominees, Ryan Gosling has 11/1 odds of winning the award for Best Actor. Denis Villeneuve has 49/1 odds of winning Best Director for Arrival.

Alan Barillaro’s Piper is the frontrunner to win Best Animated Short with 3/20 odds.

Producer Howard Barish’s13th has 4/1 odds of winning Best Documentary Feature.
