The Blind Bay properties marked in red were without water due to mechanical issues with the local water system on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024.

Update: Water service has been restored to users of the MacArthur Reedman water system after repairs were completed at 3:15 p.m.

The boil water advisory issued following the outage, however, remains in effect until water testing is complete.

Mechanical issues leaving a number of Blind Bay residents without water are expected to be repaired this afternoon.

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) notified the public Wednesday morning, July 31, that a mechanical problem with a pressure booster on the MacArthur Reedman water system in Electoral Area G had caused a water outage for the entire water system.

"Repair crews are already on site working on repairs. It is estimated that water service will be restored by early this afternoon," said the CSRD in a news release.
