Update
Power has been restored to much of the Shuswap but several smaller outages remain.
Four areas on BC Hydro’s outages map show approximately 80 businesses and residents without power. The locations range from small outages near Turtle Valley, Scotch Creek and Celista, with the largest spanning a few kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway north of Canoe.
All outages are still under investigation by the utility company.

BC Hydro is working to restore power to thousands of customers following the snowstorm which blew through the Shuswap. Outages are affecting people in Adams Lake, Notch Hill, Turtle Valley, east of Canoe, Sicamous, Swansea Point and Malakwa. The lights are off at more than 4,500 homes and businesses.

The utility company is working to restore power to customers near Notch Hill and Turtle Valley. With power off since 5:38 a.m. Tuesday, the outage has affected 429 customers. According to BC Hydro’s website the loss of power is due to a downed wire.

Crews are investigating the cause of the outages in the Sicamous area; some have been determined to be the result of a transmission circuit failure.
