The Salmon Arm RCMP are continuing the search for missing person Roy Sharp, who is presumed dead after being caught in a landslide in Sunnybrae on May 5 .

Sharp is believed to have died in the Robinson Creek Mud slide which flowed over his property and destroyed his residence, however, efforts to locate his remains have been unsuccessful.

The Salmon Arm RCMP with the support of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, Ministry of Transport

and local contractors Blackburn Excavation continue work in the Robinson Creek slide area.

“To date, a substantial amount of excavation work has been undertaken and we are hopeful that the efforts will

result in our locating his remains,” stated Staff. Sgt. Scott West of the Salmon Arm Detachment.

A special team was brought in from Vancouver to search during the first few days after the slide, but were called off when it become unlikely that Sharp could have survived the slide.
