A sander truck went off Highway 97B near Mellor's Store on Friday afternoon. Roads in the region are all classed as slippery and motorists are advised to use extra caution.

Winter conditions make driving treacherous

Motor Vehicle accidents have taken place on the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 97B in the Shuswap.

With the snow continuing in the Shuswap unabated since 7 a.m., winter roads are becoming increasingly hazardous.

Collisions are reported on the Trans-Canada Highway both east and west of Salmon Arm, as well as on Highway 97B in the Ranchero area. ‘

Drivers are advised to slow down and use extra caution if they must travel.
