December 1, 1938 - November 13, 2018
Marie Jeannette Kieft, age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, BC. She was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick on December 1, 1938 to Catherine (nee: Comeau) and Frederic Daigle.

Jeannette worked in housekeeping at St. John Regional Hospital in New Brunswick as a young lady. Later, she moved with her family to British Columbia, where she graduated from the first Long Term Care nursing program offered in the Okanagan region in 1982 and continued to work for Shuswap Home Support in the Sicamous area for many years. She made many friends in the community. Jeannette was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary as well as serving on the Legion Executive for many years. She volunteered with many programs supporting the community, including the Wheels to Meals Program and supporting her children in various projects for Boy Scouts Canada.

Jeannette was a charter member of the Red Hot Moose - a local Red-Hat chapter; now known as Crown Jewels of Canada. She pursued many hobbies, including line-dancing, cross country skiing, quilting, paper tole, playing the ukulele and dragon boating, competing in the BC Senior Games in Prince George and Richmond, 2008/2009.

Jeannette is predeceased by her parents Catherine (nee: Comeau) and Frederic Daigle; sisters, Alvina Richard, Alice Ouellette, and Anita Nesbit; brothers, Arthur Daigle, Ronald Daigle, and Louis-Emile Daigle. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Carson and Debbie Foster and son Jason Kieft; sisters Yvette (Claudius) Albert and Doris (Jacques) Poirier; and brothers Leo (Yvette) Daigle, Gerald (Cynthia) Daigle, Eric (Sandra) Daigle, Jean-Marc (Martha) Daigle and Maurice Daigle.

Funeral Services were held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Sicamous, BC on November 19, 2018. Following the service, a reception luncheon was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 99 in Sicamous. Interment was in Eagle Valley & District Cemetery, Sicamous.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff and doctors of the Shuswap Lake General Hospital, The Sicamous Medical Clinic, Lander's Lodge and Bastion Place. The staff at Bastion Place excel at their ability to give unconditional comfort and care during the most challenging times of our lives. In appreciation.
