SAUNAMAKI, (nee Sim) Marjory Bruce passed away peacefully at Oakside Manor, Enderby, BC on Wednesday, May 21, 2008.

Marjory was born on July 16, 1922 at Solsqua, BC. She served in World War II as a records clerk and after her demobilization discharge, she met and married Eero Saunamaki and lived for many years in Surrey, retiring to Canoe in 1980. Marjory and her husband enjoyed sports including, skiing, bowling and fishing and enjoyed years on the Senior’s Slow Pitch Team. They had been members of the Salmon Arm Old Time Dance Club and Canoe Square Dance Club.

Marjory loved baking and made it her hobby to always try a new recipe every week getting her family to sample them on their weekend visits.

Marjory had a great love of animals throughout her life that was still being displayed at the end when one of the horses belonging to a care aide at Oakside was expecting a colt. She waited and waited for that colt to be born, thus getting her through her final days.

Marjory was predeceased by her husband, Eero in 2004 and her sister, Lil Rokosh in 2007. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bertha Sim of New

Westminster; nieces, Cynthia Rokosh-Rabbitt (Len Dubois) of Sicamous, Alexis (Gordon) Reston of Richmond; great niece, Wendy (Lance) Milford with Tamara and Tyler; nephews, Ed Rokosh (Mary Laurila) of Sicamous, Jim (Marj) Sim with Angie and Jamie of Richmond.

There will be no formal funeral service. Cremation with interment to take place in the family plot at Solsqua Cemetery, Sicamous, BC. Ed and Cynthia would like so very much to thank the staff at Oakside for their never-ending care and concern for their Aunt and always making them feel so welcome while visiting.
