Terrence Robert Dave Erickson of Salmon Arm, B.C. passed away at the age of 79 on April 2, 2017 with Brent and Tara by his side.
Terry was born October 1, 1937 in Edmonton, Alberta to Nora and Osborne Erickson, he was the oldest of 6 children. Terry married Carole Ashley in Quesnel, B.C. on January 27, 1961. They started their married life in Quesnel and area where they had their three children Brent, Blake and Tara. In 1972 the family moved to Malakwa, B.C. where they built and operated Mal-Mar Fruit Stand until their retirement in 1989. Terry and Carole moved to Sicamous and eventually settled in Salmon Arm.
Terry was a man of many hats but those who didn’t know Terry from Mal- Mar Fruit Stand will remember him for his hand split cedar shakes that he made and sold, right up until his passing.
Terry loved hockey and could be seen standing in the same place for many of the Salmon Arm Silverback home games. He loved spending time with family and friends, being on the road, especially if the road led him to reunions and gatherings to connect with relatives both close and distant.
Terry is predeceased by his wife Carole, son Blake, his only granddaughter Christina, parents Osborne and Nora, and sister Mable and brother Leif.
Terry is survived by his son Brent and wife Laurie Erickson, grandsons Zack, Matt and wife Noelle; Daughter Tara and husband Aaron Willey, grandsons Hayden and Owen, his daughter-in-law Tanya Erickson and grandsons Jesse, Brodie, Brandon and Tyler. Also, his sisters Connie and Sharon and brother Ken along with many nephews, nieces, & cousins.
In Terry’s memory a gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 6 starting at 11:00 am at the Crazy Creek Hot Pools Conference Centre.
There will be a tribute and short video followed with a catered lunch in Terry’s honour. We hope family and friends will take time to share their stories, pictures, and memories of Terry as well.
