Valerie Anne Rogers (nee Vogt-Dunn)

It is with sadness and gratitude for her life that the family announce the passing of Valerie Anne Rogers after a brave battle with ovarian cancer. Val was born in Vancouver, BC and along with her younger sister Cheryl they were raised in Maple Ridge B.C. After the death of their father, Gordon Vogt and upon her mother's second marriage to George Dunn, the family relocated into the Shuswap . Val loved the simplicity and beauty of Sicamous, and returned back to raise her own children there while working at various jobs in town (Super 8 Motel, Tim Hortons, Askews and Three Valley Gap)
Music was a joy in Val's life .She was a gifted singer with a keen ear that was attentive to others, the sign of a good listener. Valarie was dedicated to her family, putting their priorities first before her own. Jordan and Vanessa grew up in her love and she knew they loved her in return. Through tough health challenges, Val exemplified graciousness, generosity, an orderly gentle courage. Many thanks for the comfort and care given to Val by her doctors, nurses and caregivers at Bastion Place.
Valerie was pre-deceased by her Father, Gordon William Vogt, January 16, 1970, her Step-Father, George Edwin Dunn, April 14, 2002 and her Mother Beverlee Joan Stevens, September 16, 2014.
She is survived by her beloved children, son Jordan of Sicamous, BC, her daughter Vanessa (Daniel) of Vernon, BC, their Father Michael Rogers of Vernon, BC and Sister Cheryl (Gerry) Scrimbit of Lake Country, BC.
Please join in her Celebration of Life Service on Sat. Nov.2, at Eagle River Secondary School @ 11 am (Shuswap Community Church )
