Violet Beatrice Carpenter passed away in Sicamous, BC on March 7, 2009 at age 98. Violet was born at Desjarlais Crossing AB, to Charles and Anna Tillapaugh on Nov. 1,1910. Violet was the fourth child in a family of eight children.
A beautiful life came to a sudden end, She died as she lived, everyone’s friend. She was always thoughtful, loving and kind
What precious memories she left behind.
Violet was an amazing woman who cherished her family and friends and kept in touch with all of them.
Violet was predeceased by her first husband Herb Franklin (1947) second husband Glen Carpenter (1979) sons Charles Franklin (1955) and George Franklin (1980), grandsons Clifford Franklin and Troy Franklin.
Very much loved and an inspiration to all who knew her she leaves to mourn one sister Louella Farrell, Half Moon Bay, BC, children Dean (Tina) Franklin, Donalda AB, Gladys (Don) Campbell, High Prairie, AB, Bill (Evelyn) Franklin, Vernon, BC, Kathryn Longman, Courtenay BC, Gary (Erika) Carpenter, Coleman, AB, Suzanne Carpenter (Grady) Sicamous, BC and her girl Darlene Carrick.
Violet had 22 grandchildren, Don and Gary Carmichael, Dale and Brian Campbell, Rhonda Rich, Herb Franklin, Irene Franklin, Marilyn Ironstand, Yvonne Franklin, Patricia Franklin, Shawn Franklin, Roni Mayhew, Rory and Jason Longman, Charlie Carpenter, Glen Carpenter, Sandi Carpenter, Gavin Carpenter, Benjamin MacDonald and Bretton MacDonald. She had 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren... Violet will always be remembered for her great hospitality, always ready with a pot of home made soup and her famous bread (and cinnamon buns) for anyone that entered her home.
There will be a celebration of life in Sicamous BC on July 4th. Friends who so wish, may make memorial donations directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 1141, Salmon Arm, BC V1E 4P3.
A family internment for Violet will be held in Enilda, May 23, 2009.
