I am very disappointed with the all-candidates forum hosted by the Salmon Arm Chamber of Commerce.
As was explained at the beginning prior to the start of the Q&A session, the chamber in their greater wisdom took a hard look at all the questions that were submitted, and then assembled what they felt were either a majority of what the people had asked or what they deemed important.
So please tell me, how many ways are there to ask about housing or homelessness? Are these important issues? Absolutely, but how many times do we need to ask?

You may as well have just asked the question once and had all the candidates answer it. This would have been a great opportunity for the chamber to ask a diverse number of questions, including one of our most important decisions.
The underpass, this should not have been just a show of hands, posed as a question to so we could hear from at the least two people on this subject. Emergency preparedness, we have had this in place for 20 years, really?
I felt like the chamber had just one agenda, housing. I really felt sorry for the candidates, as I feel they were cheated of an opportunity to showcase their views outside the three-minute intro.
Good luck to all the candidates, and to the citizens of Salmon Arm. Please vote. You do not need to vote for all the positions if you are not sure but vote only for those you believe in. Voting for what you believe will help to send a clear message.
