Roller derby action heats up Armstrong

The Okanagan Shuswap Roller Derby Association will host the second annual Derby Love tournament Saturday

Get ready for some roller derby fun.

The Okanagan Shuswap Roller Derby Association will host the second annual Derby Love tournament Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. at Hassen Arena in Armstrong.

“This one-day tournament will feature Armstrong’s very own Farmer’s Slaughters welcoming to the track three amazing visiting teams,” said Bryer Manwell, with the OSRDA.

“Each team will play three games each, which means you have an opportunity to watch six games. There will be a concession and adult beverage garden for the afternoon games.”

Game 1: 9:00-10:45 – Team Smolder (Kelowna) vs Northern Mayham (Terrace)

Game 2: 10:45-12:30  – Farmers’ Slaughters (Armstrong) vs Rossland-Trail Rollergirls

Game 3: 12:30 – 2:15 – Northern Mayhem (Terrace) vs Farmers’ Slaughters (Armstrong)

Game 4: 2:15 – 4:00 – Rossland-Trail Rollergirls vs Team Smolder (Kelowna)

Game 5: 5:45 – 7:30 – Northern Mayhem (Terrace) vs Rossland-Trail Rollergirls

Game 6: 7:30 – 9:15 PM Team Smolder (Kelowna) vs Farmers’ Slaughters (Armstrong)

Cost: $10 at the door for derby all day long! Children under 12 are free.
