The Dropkick Murphys are coming to the South Okanagan and bringing along some of their punk rock friends, too.

The Boston-based band will be at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Oct. 15, with punk legends Pennywise and Dublin-based foursome The Stratch set to join them on stage.

Formed in 1996, the Dropkick Murphys have released 12 studio albums since their inception.

The band’s best-selling record, 2005’s The Warrior’s Code, features one of their most well-known singles I’m Shipping Up to Boston.

After a run of U.S. shows earlier this year, the Dropkick Murphys are ready to bring their energetic set across North America this fall.

Penticton and Vancouver mark the group’s only concerts in B.C. this year. They’ll be at the latter on Oct. 13, at the Harbour Event and Convention Centre.

The Dropkick Murphys consists of Ken Casey, Tim Brennan, Jeff DaRosa, Matt Kelly, James Lynch and Kevin Rheault. Joining the band for their live shows this year is bagpiper and multi-instrumentalist Campbell Webster.

Pennywise, meanwhile, formed in the South Bay of Los Angeles in 1988 and have been staples on punk airwaves and at festivals around the world since.

Tickets for the show in Penticton will go on sale Friday, May 24, at 10 a.m.
