Two people were sent to hospital after a fire ripped through a home on Penticton’s Rigsby Street in the early hours of March 29.
Rob Trupp, assistant fire chief with the Penticton Fire Department, said crews responded to the scene at 2:13 a.m. and arrived when the house was “significantly involved” by the blaze.
The single-family home is located in the 300 block of Rigsby Street.
Residents were able to make it out of the home safely but Trupp says two people were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.
Crews were on scene until 7 a.m.
“Crews committed to a defensive attack due to the fire involvement,” Trupp said.
“An excellent effort by on-scene personnel.”
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
