Sicamous Snow Days is headed into its final week with lots of winter time fun to still be had.
Coming up on Saturday, Feb. 18 is the Eagle Valley Snowmobile Club’s ‘Ladies Ride,’ a first year event, sponsored by the Carl Kuster Mountain Park.

The weekend of Feb. 24, 25 and 26 presents a flurry of activity. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #99, Curling Fun Spiel starts Friday and finishes with the Ladies Auxiliary Dinner on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The Sicamous Snow Daze Photo Contest, Exhibit and Awards runs Saturday, the 25th, between 2 and 5 p.m. It includes a draw for the Snow Days Passport campaign prize winners.
New this year, the Monashee Mountain Arts presents a Variety Gamut. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Red Barn Arts Centre.
The Eagle Valley Photography Arts Club is sharing a photo slide presentation, again at the Red Barn, 2 p.m. start on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Of note, the free form Front Yard Snow Sculpture and Light Up contest wound up on Sunday, Feb. 12 – just beating the rain.
The judging is done and people’s choice ballots are in. Our official judges awarded a first-place Daytime and second-place Light-up to the Wing-et team who impressed with their inviting Moroccan/Sicamous Beach theme, complete with margaritas and music.
First-place light-up and second-place daytime went to Team Barbie for the highly authentic looking ‘Barbie Ski Lodge,’ sporting everything from horse-drawn sleigh-rides to your dream ski lodge wedding.
The Best Story Told and the Best Community Builder went to Team Snow Angels. Out of an impressive 41 ballots cast, the people’s choice was Team Barbie’s Ski Lodge, taking both the daytime and the light-up categories.
Congratulations to all teams participating – your patience and perseverance paid off as perfect snow conditions set in just in time.
By all reports every team called the challenge, ‘the most winter fun they have had in a long-time,’ and some thought it couldn’t be done.
You can show your support and appreciation for our brave creators by coming out to the Front Yard Snow Sculpture ribbon presentations on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.
The awards will kickoff prior to the Eagle Valley Photo Club’s slide presentation.
