The pulsating sounds of sandworms rippling through the planet of Arrakis will be on full display from your vehicle in Enderby, starting in May.

The Starlight Drive-In on Highway 97A will be opening up for the season Friday, May 3. The iconic theatre is one of about 40 drive-in theatres across the country, and one of just three in B.C.

The first movie shown will be the blockbuster, Dune: Part Two, featuring stars like Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh and Josh Brolin. The movie is the sequel to the original, Dune, based on Frank Hebert’s 1964 novel of the same name that chronicles the immense fable of Lisan al Gaib.

Tickets are $23 per vehicle (max four people) on the opening weekend, with the show starting at 8:30 p.m on Friday and Saturday. Box office and concession open at 7 p.m.

Movies for the following week will be posted on the starlightdrivein.ca website late Monday, May 6. Double features at the drive-in typically will begin later in the summer, with a kids movie shown first.

Tickets are available at ticketseller.ca.
