Cedars Campground
This 12-ha escape near the Eagle River offers several amenities to ensure a comfortable camping experience. Laundry, showers, bike rentals, a 6.5-km path leading to the river, a playground and a convenience store, as well as an indoor pool and hot tub ensure both the necessities and the extras are available to guests. Homestead Tent & RV Park
This pet-friendly vacation getaway offers 60 sites and hookups, along with fire pits, coin showers, and two cabins. Amenities offered are laundry, arcade, convenience store, and a heated pool. Group rates are available, making Homestead Tent & RV Park a great place to celebrate family events. The campground is right on the eastern outskirts of Sicamous on the Trans-Canada Highway, and can be reached at 836-2583.
Kingbaker Creek Resort
A summer retreat with beach access, Kingbaker Creek Resort also boasts 25 campsites and five cabins. Don’t miss the evenings at the beach. Located on Highway 97A 13 km south of Sicamous. Call the resort at 838-7015.
Whispering Pines Tent & RV Park
Campers and their approved pets can choose from 160 sites. The campground also has an outdoor pool and free showers. Located 19 km south of Sicamous along Highway 97A, Whispering Pines Tent & RV Park can be reached at 838-6775.
Willow Shores Resort
Offering large campsites, Willow Shores Resort boasts beach access and a marina. With an on-site laundry, showers, and a playground, the resort offers both the necessities and extras that enhance a holiday. Those who prefer a more solid stay can choose one of the seven cabins. Willow Shores Resort is located 16 km south of Sicamous along Highway 97A, and can be reached at 838-6216.
Sicamous KOA
Just a few minutes east of Sicamous on the Trans-Canada Highway, the Sicamous KOA offers RV pull-through and back-in sites, along with one-room cabins, and washroom and shower facilities. Activities ranging from pancake breakfasts to movie nights are planned throughout the summer. There’s also a hiking trail on the site leading to waterfalls. For information, call 836-2507.
Eagle River Nature Park
Across the highway from Yard Creek Provincial Park, the Eagle Valley Nature Park is a suitable venue for walking or bird watching. Giant cedar trees abound, and the view of the Eagle River is amazing. Located about 13 km east of Sicamous. The hiking logo is visible from the Trans-Canada Highway. Turn on Clifford Road.
Mara Lake Provincial Park
This day-use facility is appreciated by both picnickers and swimmers. The 5.9 ha property lies along the eastern shores of Mara Lake, along Highway 97A, 12 km south of Sicamous. The water is also a vital salmon habitat.
Riverfront Nature Park
North of the Sicamous Beach Park, the nature park offers scenic walking and biking trails along the Eagle River and Shuswap Lake. Large cottonwoods and various birds greet the walker or biker.
Sicamous Beach Park
Equipped with playground equipment, a water park and an outdoor volleyball court, the beach is a favourite spot for many in the summer. You can either take Silver Sands Road (turn north off the Trans-Canada Highway east of the bridge) or walk to the end of Finlayson Street.
Yard Creek Provincial Park
Near Malakwa, the Yard Creek Provincial Park is a great day-trip destination. Plenty of hiking trails and camping facilities exist over the 60 ha of land. Fishing, hiking, swimming, and golfing are available. The park is well-known for its bird watching opportunities.
The park is located along the roadside, 15 km east of Sicamous on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Eagle River
This path may not be suitable for younger visitors or those inexperienced on a bicylce. For those wanting to experience the 12.3-km trail, great views can be found. Visitors are asked to take caution due to the narrow road and lack of a bike path or shoulder. Access this route by turning on the Sicamous Solsqua Road beside Abide With Inn.
Malakwa Suspension Bridge
Originally built in the early 1900s by farmers who wanted a way to connect their farms to the rest of the community, the bridge was rebuilt in 1940 by the Department of Highways. Drive east of Sicamous on the Trans-Canada Highway and turn onto the service road just past the Malakwa Cafe. From there, follow the road until it meets the railroad tracks and turn left on Summerville Husted Road. The signs will lead the way.
Owl’s Head
The McLean-MacPherson Road, which can be accessed by turning south at the A&W, leads to an eight-km trail full of mountain bluffs, meadows, and a forestry lookout tower. The trail offers a view of the Monashee Mountains, Mabel Lake and Shuswap Lake. When the road becomes gravel a sign will indicate the trail head.
Old Sicamous Road
A scenic trail providing walkers and bikers with a relaxing tour around the lake, it can be found by turning north off the Trans-Canada onto the Old Sicamous Road by the bridge.
Queest Mountain
Without the snow, the mountain provides a beautiful semi-alpine terrain. The trail can be found by taking the 1800 Forest Service Road for 14 km. A parking lot and trail guide will be on the right.
A chalet and fire lookout tower are 12 km past the trail head. Some visitors may decide to stay overnight in the chalet, as the hike is rather long.
Two Mile
Known to be one of the best biking trails in the country, the Lizard provides breath-taking views of the Sicamous Creek Canyon and Mara Lake.
A more laid-back hike at Two Mile is the short journey leading to a view of the Sicamous Falls. Several benches and rest stops along the way make for an outing the whole family will enjoy. Young children should be supervised, as there are steep slopes. Two Mile can be found by travelling south on Highway 97A and turning onto Two Mile Road.
Narrows Village
Tours for every vacation style are available at Narrows Village. Nature lovers will appreciate the bird watching tours offered at the mouth of the Eagle River. Three-, five-, or seven-day camping tours to areas accessible only by water will thrill the adventurous spirit. ATV tours are also available by the hour or day.
