The Eagle Valley News will be arriving to its subscribers as usual.

Black Press, the company which ownes this newspaper, has recently merged two of its Shuswap publications under the Shuswap Market News banner.

The Eagle Valley News, with a focus on Sicamous, will continue to run print editions on Wednesdays.

The Lakeshore News has ceased to operate, however some of the most-read features will be incoporated into the Friday Shuswap Market News.

This will include the “Break Time - Anytime” puzzle feature pages, a Health and Wellness page which will feature regular columnist, Dr. Warren Gage, a Salmon Arm chiropractor, and a dedicated Arts and Events page featuring upcoming cultural events along with the Lakeshore News’ Cinemaphile columnist, Emily Garrett, covering the movie scene.

Popular outdoor columnist Hank Shelley will also be included in the revamped Market News on a regular basis.

Coming in mid-April will be the return of two columns by Leah Blain, the “Friends and Neighbours” feature, which will take a friendly look at some of the stories behind people living in the Shuswap.

Blain will also be renewing her Spotlight column with more of a focus on all the goings on with local businesses, including openings, awards and new services. The Market News is welcoming ideas and tidbits for this column from members of the public. Email suggestions to newsroom@saobserver.net and include the words ‘Business Spotlight’ in the subject line.
