Five people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a three-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Revelstoke Friday afternoon.
The accident took place when an eastbound car spun out of control and collided into two westbound vehicles 34 kilometres west of town on Jan. 6 at around 12:30 p.m.
Three ambulances and Revelstoke Highway Rescue attended the scene. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was knocked unconscious in the crash and air ambulance was called in from Kamloops as a precaution, but was not needed.
Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said the road was packed with snow and was icy at the time of the crash.
The crash closed the highway for about two hours.
It was the second crash on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Revelstoke that day. Earlier, a Salmon Arm man was injured in a collision just west of Sicamous.
