Bater, Fern Marie (nee Lipskey, Chato, Parkinson) - born on July 17, 1915 in Couer D elene Idaho USA . Her parents, Albert and Pearl Parkinson and their family immigrated to Canada to homestead in southern Alberta, finally settling in Spring Coulee. There she met and married Leslie Chato in 1933.
They had three children - Ardella (Ed Gibson), Robert (Monti Napier) & John.They moved to Kelowna B C after WW2 and then to Sicamous in 1971. After the passing of Les, she met and married Rev. Edwin Lipskey. Upon surviving Edwin’s passing, she met and married Lorrin Bater in 1996, whom she referred to as the love of her life.
She was blessed with a strong faith and many friends and family who loved her dearly. Her door was always open for a cup of tea and a game or two. She is survived by her loving husband, Lorrin, her three children, a son in law, a daughter in law, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and six great, great grandchildren.She was predeceased by two grandchildren.Fern lived a long, happy life and will be greatly missed. An open house will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Sicamous Senior’s Activity Centre, 1091 Shuswap Ave., Sicamous.
