INGE HOHNDORF

July 11, 2009

It is with great sadness that we note the sudden passing of our dear mother. Her love and support touched all who encountered her. A  passionate environmentalist and strong human rights advocate, Inge tirelessly worked toward ensuring the natural beauty of Mara Lake and  Sicamous would be maintained for future generations. Her love of the written word is evident in her many letters advocating on behalf of the natural world, her appetite for reading about the challenges and hopes for humanity and her spirit for sharing all that she read. She was a kind, and giving friend, who always had an ear to listen, a  shoulder to lean on. Her creative talents, quirky humor, and infectious laugh brightened our world. All that know her, marvel at her bravery and strength in the face of  cancer, her ability to maintain her impressive garden and her dedication to endless nature park walks with her beloved dog Sandy. To her grandchildren she was the best Oma ever, her enveloping hugs will be sorely missed by us all. She is pre-deceased by her husband Erich, survived by her children Hagen (Fiona) and Sirka (Kevin) and grandchildren Finn and  Summer. In lieu of flowers please send donations in memory of Inge Hohndorf to the Salmon Arm SPCA 5850 Auto Road SE, Salmon Arm, V1E  2X2, or call 250-832-7376.
