It is with sadness that the family of John announces his peaceful passing at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on January 15, 2017 at the age of 85 years.
John was born on February 5, 1931 in Woolwich, England to parents Douglas and Elsie Marner.
In 1981 John had the opportunity to immigrate to Canada where he pursued his career as a pipeline engineer. His wife Jenny and children Henry, Douglas and Rachel joined John 6 months later making Edmonton AB their home for many years.
Sicamous later became John and Jenny’s retirement home where together they spent more than 20 years loving the Shuswap.
John’s love for life, his family and his dogs will be forever remembered by Jenny, his loving wife of 52 years and his children; Henry, Douglas (Barbara) and Rachel, grandchildren; Brittany, Samuel, Jonathan and Geoffrey as well as many extended family members in England.
Respecting John’s wishes there will be no formal service.
