In loving memory ~
Terrance Lynn Danielson passed away peacefully at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm, B.C., on March 24, 2023 at the age of 77.
He is survived by his daughter Tara (Lyle-Taylor, Reece) Danielson-Weiman, grand-daughter Sheridan Popenia, his sister, Doreen Neidig, nephew Brad (Shelley-Christine)) Neidig, niece Tracey (Dan Kallaway) Neidig, great nephew Kyle (Emmy) Neidig, and great-niece Karla Kallaway, great great nieces and nephews, Nixon, Mason, and Madison. Terry was predeceased by his parents, Phyllis and Ed Danielson and his brother, Edwin Danielson.
Born in Fernie, B.C on July 7th, 1945, Terry went on to Selkirk College where he completed his studies and eventually worked in the BC Forest Industry for many years. Terry later moved to Sicamous where he became well-known for his homemade huckleberry pancakes and his custom brickwork business. If you walk around the town of Sicamous, you will undoubtedly encounter some of his handywork beneath your feet.
Terry had a passion for picking huckleberries and spent many hours at his "secret spot" where he would return with pails full of berries that he would use to make "Uncle Terry's" huckleberry jam, muffins, and pancakes.
As a life-long fisherman, Terry passed on his joy for the sport to his daughter and grand-daughter who will forever cherish the moments spent together with him out on the water.
Throughout the years, Terry was involved with the Boy Scouts, volunteer fire department, Legion, minor hockey, baseball, curling, bowling, and golfing. He was an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed trips and social events with his friends.
Terry was a generous and kind-hearted man who was willing to help anyone in need. Those who knew him will agree that he had a wonderful sense of humour and could be quite the prankster. He often dressed up like Santa for various events and was also very proud of being a "carnival cop" for the Vernon Winter Festival. Terry took pride in dressing up for Halloween and enjoyed giving the kids (and adults) a good scare. Terry took every opportunity to involve himself in parades and community events.
Terry was always lending a helping hand around his community in any way he could and he would often be seen helping his neighbours by shoveling snow, trimming trees, and cleaning out eaves-troughs. He was always friendly and enjoyed life and liked to make his rounds to the local business for a visit and coffee.
We mourn the loss of our wonderful father, grandfather, brother, friend, and community member, but we are comforted to know that he is being received into the loving embrace of our loved ones before him.
Until we are together again.
The Danielson family are grateful and want to extend our thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff members at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital for the care, kindness, and compassion, given to Terry during his final days.
A come and go tea will be held to celebrate Terry's life on March 30th, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. at the Hilltop INN-Okanagan Room, 1460 Trans Canada Hwy. NE, Salmon Arm, BC.
