September 21, 1951 - January 9, 2024
Valarie "Val" Holmes (née Burgess) passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at age 72 with her daughter by her side.
Val is survived by her daughters Chelsea (Matt) and Katy; son Benjamin (Kelly); and granddaughters, Emery and Eliza.
She is also survived by brothers, Jim (Eileen), and Dan (Sharon); sister Shelley; and a large and loving extended family.
She is predeceased by her parents, Cyril and Phyllis; her eldest brother Stephen; her husband Patrick; and her infant daughter Carly.
Val was born September 21, 1951, in Victoria, BC. In her early life, she enjoyed music, camping, and exploring the many beaches of Vancouver Island. In 1984, Val and her husband Patrick (Pat) settled in Sicamous, BC, and enjoyed a simple, yet full, life.
Val enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, yoga, and more than anything being surrounded by friends and family. She is remembered for her kind heart, thoughtful wisdom, and caring nature.
